2020 Eastside Business Awards

Hot off the back of winning the 2019 Eastside Business Award for best Fashion Retailer, Shouz co-owner Kate spoke with The Messengers Stephanie Timotheau on the importance of supporting local enterprise. 

Relishing the challenges that come with being a small business owner, Kate spoke on the competing global forces “I think we all know the face of retail has changed in the last 10 years, and small business are disappearing on a weekly basis because retail has become so competitive” Kate said. 

Emphasising the importance of offering exemplary customer service, Kate says her focus is to ensure that every customer receives a personalised experience when in-store.

Ultimately, it’s this passion for customer service that saw Shouz take home the gong for best Fashion Retailer in last years Eastside Business Awards.

“You care so much about the integrity of your business and want customers to walk out of your store feeling good” Kate said, adding that it’s (winning the award) “is such nice recognition for all the hard work you put in”. 

The awards, backed by The Messenger and the Norwood Payneham & St Peters Council aim to shine a spotlight on the businesses that make the eastern suburbs such a fantastic area to live, work, play and shop.
