As a personal stylist, I believe that footwear is one of the most important aspects of putting an outfit together. Shoes have the power to transform your look, taking it from ordinary to extraordinary. They can add personality, elevate your style, and provide the finishing touch to any outfit.  When it comes to winter footwear, the goal is to find shoes that are stylish, practical, comfortable and versatile enough to work with different outfit combinations through the cooler months.  In this month’s blog, I’m sharing my thoughts on some of the must-have shoes this winter.

Sneakers

Sneakers have become a year-round staple, and winter is no exception. A comfortable pair of sneakers like the Osloe White Leather Sneakers can elevate your style while providing the support you need for those chilly days. Opt for sneakers in classic colours like black, white, or grey for a versatile look that can be paired with just about anything. For a pop of colour, consider bright shades like the Copen Rainbow Multi Sneakers. Not only are these fun but the thicker sole will provide extra warmth and support during the winter months.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are a winter classic that every wardrobe should include. They offer the perfect combination of style and functionality, keeping your feet warm while looking chic. Choose a pair in a neutral colour like black, brown, or taupe for maximum versatility. If you’re someone who likes to add some flair to your look, consider styles with unique details such as zippers, buckles, or textured leather. The Malitta Black Ankle Boots is my personal favourite this season. The geometric heel and black rhinestones add a subtle but edgy look to this classic ankle boot. Ankle boots can easily transition from day to night, making them perfect for both casual and formal occasions.

Ballet Flats

While ballet flats may seem like a spring or summer choice, I find they can be a great option for milder winter days or time spent indoors.  Look for ballet flats with a cushioned insole and rubber sole like the Tokena Nude Leather Ballet Flats for added comfort and grip on slippery surfaces. These classic shoes can be paired with dresses, skirts, or even jeans and work beautifully for a polished yet relaxed look.

Mules

Mules have seen a resurgence in popularity, and they are perfect for winter when you want to make a stylish statement. Closed-toe mules like the Merchah Black Leather Mules offer warmth and protection, while open-toe mules can be worn indoors or during warmer winter days. Look for mules in luxurious materials like leather or velvet for a sophisticated touch. You can pair them with tailored pants, skirts, or dresses for an effortlessly chic look.

Loafers

Loafers are a stylish and comfortable choice for winter. This season, try experimenting with bold patterns or textures like The Gabrian Choc Patent/Choc Leopard Leather loafers The animal print and patent leather add the perfect modern twist. If you prefer something more classic then the Gala Coconut Leather Loafers are a great option. Loafers are perfect for dressing up a casual outfit, and they can easily transition from the office to after-work drinks.
