Shouz Staff Profiles - Meet Zeina

Our self-professed Middle-Eastern grandma in residence is one of the newest members of the Shouz team, having joined us as Copywriter and Digital Marketing Assistant in March 2021. When not at her desk working, Zeina enjoys eating the same zaatar sandwich for lunch every day. Without fail. In her spare time, she also enjoys telling people off for desecrating Lebanese food (cucumber in tabouli, she’s looking at you).

Where did you grow up?

-Kuwait and Lebanon

Style icon?

-A Turkish socialite, Eda Gurkaynak. She wears a lot of vintage designer clothing and her style is so unique, timeless and full of personality.

Favourite food?

-I love bread, fries and anything carb-y. I’d rather die than cut carbs from my diet.

Favourite colour?

-If it doesn’t come in black I don’t want it.

Give us a funny, interesting, quirky fact about yourself:

-I hate the movie 'The Notebook' with a vengeance. Don’t @ me.

Working at Shouz since:
-March 2021

What do you enjoy most about working here?

-I like that no two days are the same. Being a small business, you also get to work on so many fun projects and try your hand at different things.

Favourite shoe trend of the season and how people can shop it at Shouz?

-Definitely the gumboot trend! I love the Ava ankle boots by Lemon Jelly. I can't choose between the Canyon and Black. They're so comfortable, chic and waterproof.

Favourite Shouz brand?

-Woden! I’m really loving the quirkiness of Scandinavian brands in general. Their design aesthetic ranges from sleek and minimalist to more outrageous and fun (like Ganni, which I love!). There’s just something I really enjoy about their eclectic fashion scene.

Current favourite style we stock?

-The Woden Nora 3 Leather Clouds because I live in sneakers. I think this pair would slot into my wardrobe perfectly. My uniform consists of jeans and sneakers (basic, I know). So I like to have a selection of styles and colours on rotation.

How would you style this shoe?

-I’ve been into neutrals lately, so I would pair these shoes with baggy jeans and a luxe oversized knit in cream and statement gold earrings - Kaia Gerber-style.
